Aesop’s story The Ant and the Cricket is written in the style of poetry. This poem tells the story of a desperate cricket and a miserly ant. Throughout the warm and spring months, the crickets would sing. He never kept food in the freezer for the winter. He discovers that there is no food to eat at home during the winter season. He was hungry, so he went to the ant. He requested that the ant provide him with food and shelter. The ant declined to assist him and advised him to spend the winter dancing. The ant then tossed the Cricket out of his house after stating this.

He was joyful and enjoying himself, but he was also silly. Throughout the summer and spring, there is a lot of vegetation. As a result, there is enough food and water. There is no need to keep any of these. As a result, the cricket was too busy to store food for the winter. During the winter, the ground is covered with snow, and no flower or leaf can be seen.
The crickets entertained themselves by singing and dancing as the winter season approached. He was now in danger since there was not even a crumb to eat in his house, and he couldn’t locate any food outdoors owing to the cold weather. As a result, he was unable to eat anything and was starving. He had the guts to approach the ant and ask for assistance. The cricket became wet and shivered as a result of hunger, freezing weather, and rain.
He begged the ant to provide him with food and shelter in his home, or else he would perish from hunger, sorrow, and the icy cold. He also promised to pay it back.

As the cricket was having fun, the ant was accumulating food for the winter. So irritated, the ant advised him to spend the winter singing and dancing. As a result, the ant abruptly ended the dialogue and pushed him out of his dwelling.
Finally, the poet closes by expressing that he believes the tale is true. There are many people who are unconcerned about the future. They, therefore, regret when the time has passed.

The story instructs us not to behave like crickets. We will always plan for the future so that we do not have to rely on others for assistance in difficult times. It also tells us that, unlike the ant, we will be helpful to others.
